Adevia Health USA is a proud partner of The DAISY Foundation

Adevia Health USA is a proud partner of The DAISY Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to recognizing extraordinary nurses for their skill, kindness, and compassion provided to their patients and families.

In 1999, at the age of 33, Patrick Barnes was diagnosed with the autoimmune disease ITP (Immune Thrombocytopenia). His family was fortunate to spend the eight weeks of Patrick’s hospitalization with him. During those weeks, they experienced the best of nursing. While they expected great clinical care, they did not expect the incredible kindness and compassion shown to Patrick and them every day, even when Pat was completely sedated. It eased their minds, and the nurses’ sensitivity to the situation made a great difference in the hospital experience. The nurses helped the family through the darkest hours of their lives with soft voices of comfort and strong, loving hugs.

The foundation was created by the family of J. Patrick Barnes, after his death. His family was so touched by the care his nurses provided that they created the DAISY Foundation specifically as a way to say “thank you” to nurses. Today, The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses is presented at over 3,000 healthcare facilities worldwide.

Adevia Health USA is honored to partner with the DAISY Foundation in recognizing select nurses who exemplify exceptional compassion, advocacy, and leadership.

This is an awesome honor for us and our organization. We look forward to being able to issue that first award. Below is the link to the foundation so you can read up if you are not familiar.
