Step-by-Step Guide To Becoming A USRN

Are you a nurse? Have you ever thought of working in the US?

The US is one of the most coveted working destinations for many nurses looking for better compensation and benefits. However, the journey towards becoming a USRN may seem daunting.

What is the first step? What are the requirements? If this has been a lifelong dream for you and you have been wondering how to realize it, look no further. Here are nine simple steps to help you actualize your dream.

1. Educational and Professional Requirements

Assess first if you meet the educational and professional requirements to qualify as a nurse in the US.

  • A graduate of an accredited nursing program (at least a Diploma)
  • At least 2 years experience as a bedside nurse in a 100-bed capacity hospital
  • Active RN License

2. Apply

Apply directly from the Adevia Health Website from where you will fill out a form to assess your eligibility.

3. Screening Interview

If you meet the program requirements, you will be scheduled for a screening interview to learn more about Adevia Health USA offerings and to get to know you better.

4. Contract Issuance

Upon successful completion of the interview, the Adevia Health USA Contract will be shared to review the terms of the offer.

5. Credentials Evaluation

A Processing Officer will be assigned to you to facilitate the credentials evaluation process. This is necessary to ascertain that your academic and professional qualifications match those of a USRN. A CES Report will be issued upon completion of the evaluation.

6. NCLEX Preparation

Once your academic and professional documents are ready for review at the Credentials Evaluation step, you will be enrolled in the Adevia Health USA Archer program from where the highly experienced NCLEX tutors will help you prepare adequately for the NCLEX exam through weekly tests.

7. Licensure Application/ Registration

This is the first step towards acquiring a US state nursing license. It is also necessary for NCLEX registration. After the necessary requirements for licensure are met, Adevia Health USA will register, pay, and schedule the NCLEX exam for you through Pearson Vue.

8. Employment Visa Application

Passing your NCLEX exam is your ticket to working as a USRN. Once you pass the exam, your Green Card application will be processed in two steps.

  • I-140 filing
  • Consular Processing

Adevia Health’s immigration officers will walk with you every step of the way in the immigration process, providing expert assistance. From the hospital placement interviews to the immigration documents collection and screening for filing, visa screen application, and processing, all the way until your visa is approved after your embassy interview.

9. Deployment

Adevia Health holds your hand all the way through, even post-deployment. We assist you in securing and paying for a fitting apartment for you and your family. Our supportive trip specialists are readily available to render any assistance necessary for a seamless transition to the US.
